Why over 40? Why now?
My Name is Aubrey Lauren, i’m a photographer, and i don’t want to be afraid of aging.
When I think about aging, I don’t want to be afraid. I want to anticipate it with excitement for the woman I am and am becoming. It’s important to me to help create a soft place to land as I age. I’ve been in the photography industry since graduating high school, and over the years, I’ve seen how women's views of themselves differ so greatly with each generation.
I recently had my own portrait experience to celebrate the journey I’ve been on so far, and it was truly transformative. That experience shifted something in me. As I began photographing more women, I noticed something striking—especially in women over 40. Many of them shared that they felt like they were starting to disappear, as if they weren’t as important as they once were. But something powerful would happen during our sessions. By the end, they’d stand taller, smile wider, and carry themselves with a newfound confidence.
“The photos I see hanging on my walls every day are a reminder of my confidence, power, and accomplishments.”
One client told me that walking by her portraits every day completely changed how she saw herself. That moment hit me hard. I knew this had to be something bigger than a few photo shoots—it needed to be a campaign. A movement.
Our society says that as women age, they become less valuable. But I couldn’t disagree more. With age comes wisdom, motherhood, strength, and the ability to deeply impact lives. Yes, we’re in the business of fashion and photography—but we’re also in the business of transformation. Of helping women feel seen.
I’ve been inspired to create something that ensures all women—regardless of age—can feel that same sense of visibility, empowerment, and beauty in their photos. And we want your help.
